Bol

Bol is the oldest coastal village of Brač. It lies in secluded southern landscapes, in the central part of the southern side of the island, at the bottom of the Bolus crown and Vidova gora. Spacious sandy and pebble beaches stretching in a distance of ten kilometers and numerous springs of drinking water have made Bol the first tourist oasis on the island of Brac. Natural beauty, pleasant and mild climate, and crystal clear sea make Bol a desirable vacation spot throughout the year. Besides its natural beauty, Bol offers its visitors a rich cultural and historical heritage. On the east side of Bol, on the Glavica peninsula, the Dominican monastery rises in solemn peace. Its museum has a rich archaeological collection and various valuable objects and paintings. Along with the port is the urban core of Bol. There are a baroque mansion, a lodge with a churchyard, a Renaissance-Baroque palace with an art gallery, a parish church, a pedestrian street and a café. For its guests, Bol offers numerous sports and recreational opportunities such as cycling, scuba diving and windsurfing. The unforgettable tourist offer of Bol is also a Dalmatian cuisine known for its various fish specialties, which are also served in famous restaurants of Bol. Also the wine is excellent on the island.
